A journal can be a powerful tool, partly because it is a 'safe container' for difficult feelings and memories and thoughts.. For many years my journal was my best friend.
Do you keep a journal?
What kind of journal?
What do you like in a journal?
Where do you buy your journals from?

I have an online journal but I have it set to friends only and only one person that I know of reads it. I find it very very helpful. If there's things which I really don't want anyone to read then I will write them down in a journal that my last counsellor gave me, but I usually prefer to type things. My journal is literally a life-saver because I write down all the difficult emotions I'm feeling rather than expressing them negatively towards myself.

i have a mix of online and actual handwritten journals/blogs. it kinda just depends on my mood at the time. sometimes i just need to sit down and write and not be at the computer because it is a distraction . the computer is pretty convenient though! i like that my journals are mine, im the only one for the most part that sees the one that is handwritten. when im buying a journal i look through bunches before settling on the one i like, the message on the journal has to mean something you know. jl

Do you keep a journal? yes, i have kept a variety of journals for many years.
What kind of journal? i tend to keep different sorts of journals, split up between different parts of myself. there are several online journals - one members only, one private, one about eating, another about art. in one, i only write about the "other worlds" and it is in poetry form. i have so many that i forget which ones still exist. then there are paper diaries too, though i have pretty much fizzled out writing on paper now, i can't write as fast as my thoughts come.
What do you like in a journal? truth.
Where do you buy your journals from? i had a Blue Mountain journal - handmade paper, once. it was beautiful. i had another that i got for my 12th Christmas that was varying shades of blue crushed velvet, with a ribbon and a bead on the end. mainly i just buy cheap notebooks from Morrisons because i like to be able to be messy in my journals. quite often people buy me journalling books.
