"A book must be an ice-axe to break the seas frozen inside our soul."
What do you think? Do you have any experience of this? What are the frozen seas that you're trying to break?

i'm looking for a book to teach me how to speak. to teach me that i'm not alone. the frozen seas are the isolation that years of abuse and mental illness have brought.

Books were my refuge in my childhood prison. Now books are my work. But I also am following like a stepping stone trail of books, fiction and non, that mark each step on my healing journey. The book I truly need... is the one I need to write...
The frozen seas.. what got buried, my pleasure, passion, love, caring, strength... The books that melt it are the ones that bring healing tears. For me the most recent one is "Surviving Breakdown" by Elizabeth Wilde-McCormick.
